We are a direct supplier to a leading Defence and Technology organisation, currently seeking an experienced Marine Engineering Submariner (MESM) Subject Matter Expert to support a key training and courseware development programme.
This role will suit a former Cat A or Cat B Nuclear Watchkeeper with a strong background in marine engineering, ideally with an electrical focus. You will play a key role in gathering, interpreting, and validating technical data to support the creation of high-quality Defence training material.
Key Responsibilities:
* Act as the MESM Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the Requirements Team.
* Gather and validate technical data to support DSAT-compliant courseware and media development.
* Work closely with Courseware and Media Teams to ensure accurate technical content and training context.
* Support the translation of complex engineering data into training requirements and learning outcomes.
* Ensure adherence to correct standards, conditions, and technical language throughout course materials.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Proven at-sea experience as a Cat A or Cat B Nuclear Watchkeeper (essential).
* Strong understanding of submarine marine engineering systems and documentation.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams.
Desirable Experience:
* PWR2 knowledge or electrical background.
* Experience in Fwd ME duties, Boat Build Crew, or DE&S/SDA environments.
* Prior involvement in training design, requirements capture, or delivery.
