At Sheffield Forgemasters we have an exciting opportunity for a People & Culture Advisor to join our team for a 12 month fixed term.

This role is based at our 64-acre site, sitting in the heart of Sheffield.

As a People & Culture Advisor you will support and enable effective people management practices within the service hub, providing operational HR support to line managers and People Partners.

This role will be critical in ensuring seamless HR operations, driving employee engagement, and assisting in implementing HR processes that support the business goals of SFEL.

Role Responsibilities

* Be the first point of People & Culture contact for the Operational business.
* Support HR Operations with employee relations issues, including investigation notes and disciplinary follow-ups.
* Maintain HR records and generate reports on key metrics, e.g. turnover, absence, performance, etc.
* Advise managers on performance reviews, development plans, and training needs processes.
* Support employee engagement and well-being initiatives whilst fostering a positive culture through feedback.
* Identify and implement HR process improvements to enhance service delivery and ensure compliance.


About You

The following relevant skills, knowledge and experience are required.

* CIPD Level 3 qualification or above.
* Experience guiding employees and managers through HR processes and systems.
* Evidence of supporting people partners with employee lifecycle activities.
* Ability to resolve queries efficiently using HR case management systems and digital tools.
* Structured approach to prioritising case loads.
* Experience maintaining accurate employee records and generating HR reports.
* Proficient in using HRIS platforms.
* Knowledge of recruitment and talent acquisition best practices.
* An understanding of reward & recognition strategies.
* Ability to build trust and strong relationships with stakeholders.

The Working Pattern

This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday. We offer flexibility in our start and finish times between 06:15 - 09:30 and 14:30 – 18:00.

Successful candidates must undergo a criminal record check. Successful candidates must meet the security requirements before they can be appointed. People working with government / MOD assets must complete Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) checks.

Please be aware that many roles at Sheffield Forgemasters are subject to both security and export control restrictions. These restrictions mean that factors such as your nationality, any nationalities you may have previously held, and your place of birth can restrict the roles you are eligible to perform within the organisation. All applicants must as a minimum achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard. Many roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting where applicants must typically have 5 - 10 years of continuous residency in the UK depending on the vetting level required for the role, to allow for meaningful security vetting checks.
