An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and well organised legal assistant in our friendly, well established and approachable private client team.
Responsibilities include:
* Dealing with queries raised by clients, solicitors and other involved parties
* Provide client updates and monitor matter progression
* Opening and closing matters on the case management system compliant with the firm’s AML and quality standards and SRA regulations
* Supervised drafting of basic correspondence, forms and documents.
* Submitting / registering forms and legal documents Probate Registry, Certainty and HMRC
* Responsible for the organisation, safe custodian and release of Wills, Lasting Power of Attorney’s, Probates and other associated legal documents.
* Maintaining contact lists and calendars for fee earners
* Monitoring deadlines, manage appointments and diaries
* Searches and registering Wills with Certainty
* Preparing and submitting bills, payments and receipts, liaising with the finance team
* Preparing Estate Accounts on Excel
* Handling overflow client telephone calls
* Reception cover
* Preparing and taking the banking and post
* Other duties as required to ensure the efficient running of the office
Requirements for this role include:
* Preferably previous work experience as legal assistant/secretary
* Satisfactory knowledge of day-to-day operations of a legal office
* Advanced computer literacy (word, excel, outlook)
* Working knowledge of case management software
* Proficiency in English
* Excellent administrative and organisational skills
* Ability to juggle multiple activities and work under pressure

* Hours: Monday to Friday - 9:00 to 5:15 (Office Based)
