About the role

An opportunity has arisen for an Exchange and Study Abroad Assistant to support the work of the Global Opportunities team. This role will involve a variety of administrative tasks supporting the team to facilitate and promote global study and placement opportunities to students.

The postholder will contribute to the delivery of the University’s highly successful suite of global exchange programmes including ISEP, Worldwide and the Turing Scheme.

Tasks will include responsibility for the day to day administrative support for the universities exchange and study abroad programmes, responding to and managing enquiries by phone, email and in person and data inputting: external IT systems, BANNER, the various mobility tools as well as Excel spreadsheets to support Turing.

You will work with the Team to promote global opportunities for students to study at our partners around the world and also to promote opportunities for students overseas to spend an exchange semester/year in Preston. We are seeking someone who is able to provide a high level of customer service and has the desire to support increases in student and staff mobility at the University. Responsibilities will also include supporting ‘International week’ and the University’s Open Days.


About you

The successful candidate will have GCSE English Language and Maths Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).

You will also have demonstrable experience of working in a customer or student facing environment and knowledge of using Microsoft Office programmes.
