GRADE 5 SCP 11-19 (£28,142 - £32,061 FTE) PRO RATA of FTE + ALN ALLOWANCE

FULL TIME, 34 HOURS PER WEEK, TERM TIME, 39 WEEKS PA

Under the Education (Wales) Act 2014, all School Learning Support Workers must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).

The Governing Body of Ysgol Cynefin is seeking to appoint two Senior Teaching Assistants to join our dedicated team.

Ysgol Cynefin is a successful special school for pupils aged 7–11, with a primary need of Behavioural, Emotional and Social Difficulties (BESD). We are at an exciting stage of development, having recently moved to two purpose-built sites in Llanrumney (East) and Fairwater (West). Some of these posts will be in the East and some in the West (please indicate your preference in your application form).

The successful candidates will:

•Have experience of working with vulnerable pupils who display distressed behaviours and/or have Additional Learning Needs (ALN).

•Be compassionate, empathetic and FUN to maximise pupil outcomes.

•Demonstrate strong communication skills to work in partnership with colleagues, parents/carers, and external agencies.

•Be flexible, collaborative and reflective in their approach.

•Have high expectations of pupil achievement and a commitment to raising standards.
