Overview
Community Recruitment Events are back in collaboration with the Department of Work and Pensions and the NHS. Wigan Council announces events near you with opportunities in health, care, leisure, the community and more. Roles may be paid or voluntary. Services will provide digital support and adult learning options, with presentations on free adult learning courses and technical support. TechMate volunteers will be available to offer digital support.

Quiet Hour Sessions
The quiet hour sessions are designed to provide a calm environment for individuals who may find traditional recruitment events overwhelming. They are suitable for neurodivergent attendees or anyone who prefers a quieter setting.
* Quiet hour times (example): 9:30–10:30, 10:30–13:00, and 15:00–18:00
To attend the quiet hour, please use the booking link to indicate which session you would like to attend. Availability is limited to those who have booked. For other times, booking is not required; you can drop in.

NHS partners will be attending, showcasing roles around Health and Care including:
* Wrightington, Wigan & Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (WWL) — acute hospital and community services
* Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH) — inpatient and community mental health care
* Bolton Council, Salford Council — local authority roles

Career Pathways and Learning
The Early Years and Childcare Team will share vacancies across the borough, career pathways, training and qualifications, and the Step into Childcare/Safari Days tasters. The Employment Pathways & Apprenticeships team will discuss work experience, college placements, internships and apprenticeships. The Adult Learning and Skills team offers courses and support in Maths, English, IT/Digital Skills, Health and Social Care, Beauty/Nails, Teaching Assistant/Childcare, and more, including ESOL and In Work Progression services.
