About the team and the role

As Zoom’s Senior Merchandising Executive, you will help deliver the online experience - responsible for how the website and app looks and feels for all of our customers. You will execute our Trade Plan to make sure we are putting the right products in front of the right customers at the right time, trying to ensure that new visitors convert into customers and existing customers add more to their basket. This will be facilitated through executing industry-leading media, building engaging events and aisles and ensuring best-in-class shop-keeping standards.

We are still learning about the rapid delivery market and therefore this is not a role in which you will replicate last year's plan or continue ‘business-as usual’, as such we are looking for someone to help us solve some key questions:

1. What events does the Zoom customer want to see?
2. What creative makes these events most inspiring?
3. What sort of products convert best in these events?
4. What times of the day do customers want to see these events?

This role offers the unique opportunity to ‘own the whole’ onsite experience for customers including homepage assets and events, aisles and taxonomy, check out walk and all other merchandising space. This would suit an individual with prior experience in on-site merchandising looking to increase their remit and take the next step in their career.

What you’ll do

5. Building and executing the E-Commerce strategy for the Zoom by Ocado business via app and web platforms
6. Support the trade planning process across multiple stakeholders for Commercial
7. Execute and improve the commercial performance of on-site media via banner placement, search, featured products and creative optimisations
8. Work with our supplier-funded team to highlight commercial opportunities
9. Create the concepts for and brief media assets with the Creative department
10. Develop a strong suite of on-site media and events
11. Own the monthly promo changeover media setup and execution, ensuring timely media changes and scheduling for app and web platforms
12. Review the online user journey to support our customer missions through walkthroughs of our shop and ranges.
13. Use data to continually identify opportunities to improve website/app performance and conversion rate to improve sales performance.
14. Own weekly merchandising and department reporting, attending department trading meetings as the merchandising representative.
15. Work with the Buying & Promotions teams within Grocery to drive sales and achieve commercial targets.
16. Make insightful trade-offs and prioritisation decisions into how to spend your time to optimise merchandising on Ocado.com and mobile apps.
17. Drive innovation and provide inspiration for our customers by continually thinking through new ways to shop that drive conversion and sales.

Who you are

18. Attention to detail: Diligent with detail, ensuring every piece of information and pricing on our site are accurate.
19. Commercially Driven: You have a proven track record of hitting key merchandising metrics (cash added, CVR, CTR) and understand the levers that drive e-commerce success.
20. Creative & Customer-Obsessed: You're full of ideas for new on-site initiatives and are passionate about creating an outstanding shopping experience.
21. Strong analytical skills: You transform data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations.
22. Highly Organised: Experience multitasking, managing multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
23. Ecommerce, FMCG, marketing or shopper insights experience
24. Content Management System experience
25. Contentful, Tableau and HTML experience preferable but not essential
26. Desirable: GA experience
