We are looking for experienced Senior Radiographers to join us at Imperial College NHS Trust at our St Mary’s Hospital site!
Our site will give you exposure to leading innovations and developments within Radiology. When you join us, your rotation will include General X-Ray, Fluoroscopy, Interventional Radiography, CT and neuro MRI.
St Mary’s Hospital is a large, acute central London located hospital which hosts one of the cities four major trauma centres, alongside a busy 24-hour A&E department. We have recently upgraded our acute imaging centre CT scanner, and A&E x-ray rooms with leading edge equipment.
Our welcoming team work on a 24-hour basis and will be expecting you to deliver compassionate patient care with us, by delivering your radiographic knowledge!

Main duties of the job
1. Complete high quality examinations consistent with ALARA.
2. Perform the role consistent with Trust people to people expectations and all policies and procedures.
3. Contribute to minimising hospital-acquired infections.
4. Offer Demonstrable evidence of CPD.
5. Supervise band 6 & 5 radiographers and students consistent with trust and local policies and procedures.
6. To carry out radiographic examinations across a range of modalities to the agreed standard of the department.
7. To maintain a high standard of patient care and comfort and be patient focused at all times.
8. To work in an efficient and effective manner at all times.
9. To appear on duty promptly and appropriately dressed and behave in a professional manner at all times.
10. To plan, prioritise and organise own workload within certain clinical areas of the department, e.g. Fluoroscopy, with support from senior colleagues as required..

Person specification
Education
Essential criteria
11. BSc(Hons) Radiography, DCR(D) Diploma of the College of Radiographers or equivalent
12. Health Professions Council Registration
13. Commitment to continuous professional development
14. College of Radiographers accredited IV cannulation course or equivalent
Desirable criteria
15. Student clinical assessors course
16. Post graduate modules in topics relevant to post
17. Portfolio demonstrating ongoing CPD
Experience
Essential criteria
18. Up to date knowledge of general imaging techniques
19. 18 months experience of working at a Band 6 Senior Radiographer level.
20. Able to work unsupervised
21. Awareness of clinical governance issue in relation to patient care
Desirable criteria
22. Previous experience as a Band 7 Senior Radiographer
23. Recent IR or MRI experience
Skills
Essential criteria
24. Ability to work as part of a team
25. Ability to teach and mentor students, more junior staff and new members of staff
26. Ability to cope with work pressures and manage time effectively
27. Ability to cope with conflict and complaints at local level commensurate with Trust policies
