An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right candidate to join the Leadership Team within the Finance Team at Hull City Council, as a Head of Business Finance. This role will help to drive the organisations strategic financial direction and work to influence the best outcomes for the residents in Hull.
This is a permanent role and is well suited to an individual that is looking to advance their career in finance and gain hands on experience in a busy public sector environment. We have flexible hybrid working arrangements and will support your career growth, knowledge and personal development.
Hull is a city with a vision to improve the city centre for the future to move towards a more climate-conscious urban area and attract more investment and jobs, with a population of 269,000, and was the UK City of Culture in 2017.
We are looking for someone with strong leadership skills and vision to lead our business finance function, as an experienced accountant you will use your professional skills to influence the overall financial strategy, lead the financial reporting, budget modelling and operational finance for the Council. The candidate will lead teams across Business Finance and Financial Planning; both teams which are main contact points for key stakeholder relationships and integral to our operational services throughout the organisation.
The successful applicant will hold effective communication and analytical skills and be able to work both independently and as part of a wider team. The role involves leading multiple teams therefore leadership and management skills are essential.
