Business Continuity Manager – Leading International Bank (London)
We’re seeking an experienced Business Continuity Manager to join the Banking Department of a major international financial institution. This role is pivotal in strengthening the bank’s Business Continuity Management (BCM) and Operational Resilience (OR) frameworks, ensuring the organisation is fully prepared to respond to disruptions and maintain regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the development, implementation, and enhancement of the bank’s BCM and OR framework in line with UK regulations and global standards.
* Manage and regularly review business continuity and operational resilience policies, plans, and documentation.
* Coordinate Business Impact Analyses (BIA) across departments to identify critical processes, dependencies, and recovery objectives.
* Collaborate with IT, Risk, Compliance, and HR teams to align recovery plans, communication strategies, and resilience testing.
* Design and deliver staff training and awareness sessions on BCM and resilience principles.
* Conduct simulations, stress tests, and scenario analyses to ensure the bank’s readiness for potential incidents.
* Play a key role within the Crisis Management Team, supporting effective response and post-incident review processes.
* Monitor industry developments, regulatory updates, and emerging risks to drive continuous improvement.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in a senior Business Continuity or Operational Resilience role within a European financial institution.
* Strong knowledge of UK regulatory frameworks (FCA, PRA, Bank of England).
* Solid understanding of risk management and third-party/outsourcing resilience requirements.
* Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Preferably, a BCI qualification or equivalent professional accreditation.
* Experience managing resilience initiatives across multiple banking business lines.
* Strong organisational and project management capabilities.
* Confidence in presenting to senior stakeholders and delivering structured training sessions.
* Familiarity with cross-border BCM and operational resilience regulations in the UK and EU.
