About the role
We are looking for Non‑Emergency Patient Transport Service (PTS) Ambulance Care Assistants to join our team across South Yorkshire. You will support patients, their carers and healthcare representatives by transporting them to and from healthcare appointments and assisting hospitals with patient discharges.
Key responsibilities
* Provide safe and professional patient care and transport services.
* Communicate effectively with patients, carers and healthcare representatives, adapting your approach to meet individual needs.
* Perform manual handling tasks and assist patients with complex mobility requirements.
* Drive and visit new areas across West Yorkshire and beyond, using a full UK manual driving licence.
* Work alone or as part of a double crew, delivering over 900,000 non‑emergency patient journeys each year.
* Support patients in a courteous, professional and pleasant manner.
Qualifications & experience
* Full UK manual driving licence.
* Previous experience in a similar patient transport or ambulance care role is preferred; applicants who applied for a similar post within the last six months need not apply.
* Strong communication skills and ability to adapt to a wide range of people.
* Ability to work under pressure, overcome challenges as part of a team and carry out manual handling safely.
