About The Role
We’re seeking a part-time Robotics Technician to join the growing team at Falmouth University’s Games Academy. This pivotal role involves supporting students and staff, assisting with curriculum delivery, and maintaining facilities and equipment within the department.
You will primarily work with the BSc(Hons) Robotics course and contribute to the daily operation of The Games Academy’s robotics lab.
About You
The ideal candidate will be proactive, a team player, conscientious, and dedicated to making Falmouth University a great place to work. You should have experience in robotics, electrical engineering, embedded development, and strong technical and IT skills. Experience in an educational environment is desirable.
Skills and experience required include:
1. Experience with robotics/automation projects
2. Proficiency in C/C++ and Python/JavaScript for embedded systems like microcontrollers and Raspberry Pi
3. Electronics prototyping skills, including circuit design and troubleshooting
4. Experience servicing and maintaining workshop facilities with a focus on health and safety
5. Excellent communication skills, patience, and understanding of students’ educational journey
6. A commitment to continuous professional development and learning new skills in robotics
