Electrical Inspector - Northampton – F1 – Ongoing contract
This long-term contract role for an Electrical Inspector offers a unique opportunity to showcase your expertise with a world-leading motorsport business in Northamptonshire.
You will be a key team member, crucial to the success of this dynamic company on its F1 and advanced engineering projects. The role is based 100% on-site in Brixworth, Northamptonshire.
Purpose of the role
* Support manufacturing with all inspection tasks related to internally manufactured parts.
Requirements
Experience in:
* Inspection within a low volume, high-value, precision environment.
* Electrical testing and measurement inspection tasks.
Knowledge and skills
* Ability to confirm the quality of components within required timescales, using electrical test equipment, first principle inspection techniques, and automated/mechanical measurement/test equipment, including CAD models where appropriate.
* Create measurement strategies for complex components or materials.
* Understanding of GD&T and other quality standards/processes such as ISO, DIN, IPC, ANSI, JIT, BSI, SOPs, HPP logs, and PCB schematics.
* Ability to create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and other operational documentation (e.g., SAP).
* Qualified to inspect PCBs, looms, and harnesses to IPC 610/620 standards.
* Handling and inspection of ESS batteries, with some understanding of cell technology and voltage measurements.
* Understanding of electrical components like diodes, capacitors, and soldering processes.
* Use of computed tomography (CT) to assess sealed electrical components.
* Liaise with other departments to optimize measurement strategies.
* Participate in continuous improvement activities.
Qualifications
* Electro-mechanical apprenticeship and/or Mechanical/Electrical NVQ.
* Metrology courses such as NPL Level 1, 2, and 3.
* Intermediate CMM training.
* IPC620 / IPC610 certification.
* Ability to work effectively with team members to deliver quality on time.

* Protect the PU with no escapes due to poor inspection execution.
* Be flexible, adaptable, and manage time effectively.
* Approach tasks thoroughly and meticulously.
* Be self-motivated and action-oriented.
* Deliver quality on time.
