Production Machine Operative – Alfreton People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Production Machine Operative to join our well-established manufacturing client based in Alfreton. Successful applicants will be working at our client's site in Alfreton (DE55). You must therefore be able to travel to Alfreton for work. This position is ideal for applicants who have worked in a previous position as a Machine Operative, Machine Setter or Manufacturing Operative. Shifts: • Working 4 on 4 off rotating shifts • Start times: 06:00 – 18:00 and 18:00 – 06:00 • Must be flexible to work both day and night shifts • Rota provided in advance • Three 30-minute paid breaks Rates of Pay: Pre-12 Weeks • £12.80 per hour (standard hours) • £19.20 per hour (out-of-hours once all shifts are completed) • £25.60 per hour (Saturday 18:00 – Sunday 18:00) Post-12 Weeks • £15.21 per hour (standard hours) • £19.41 per hour (out-of-hours once all shifts are completed) • £25.88 per hour (Saturday 18:00 – Sunday 18:00) Benefits: As a Production Machine Operative, you will receive: • Ongoing work with opportunities for career development and progression • Full training and continuous support • Friendly and supportive team environment • Free onsite parking • Free hot drinks and water • Vending machines onsite • Lockers provided • All workwear supplied onsite Day-to-Day Duties: As a Production Machine Operative, your duties will include (but are not limited to): • Assisting with the operation and basic maintenance of production lines • Setting and operating machinery • Reading and following detailed work instructions accurately • Monitoring and checking products to ensure quality standards are met • Packing items and weighing products • Using computers and production-based technology • Adhering strictly to all health and safety procedures Essential Skills: To be successful as a Production Machine Operative, you will need: • Ability to carry out manual handling tasks, including lifting and moving materials • Strong attention to detail • Confidence following written and verbal instructions • Previous experience working in a food production environment • Previous machine operative or machine-setting experience • Comfortable using technology and computer systems • Team-focused attitude with the ability to meet production targets Desirable Experience: • Previous experience within a production or manufacturing environment • Available to start work as soon as possible Training: • Full company policy and procedures training • Numeracy and literacy test to be completed prior to starting Apply: If you are ready to take on this exciting opportunity as a Production Machine Operative, apply today and a member of our recruitment team will be in touch.
