The Role:
* Support pupils aged 11–18 with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs
* Work closely with teachers and behaviour teams to deliver structured, supportive lessons
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for emotional regulation, literacy, numeracy, and life skills
* Help manage challenging behaviour and promote positive engagement
* Build trust and strong relationships with pupils who may have experienced trauma or school refusal
* Assist with daily routines and pastoral care where required

The Setting:
* Specialist SEMH school for secondary-aged pupils (11–18)
* Small class sizes with a high ratio of support staff
* Trauma-informed, therapeutic environment with a strong pastoral focus
* Focus on re-engagement with learning and preparing for adulthood

Ideal Candidate:
* Experience supporting young people with SEMH, SEN, or behavioural challenges
* Background in care, youth work, sports coaching, or mental health support (advantageous)
* Resilient, calm, and patient with a strong sense of empathy
* Able to build positive relationships and provide consistent support
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
