The Role – Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant
As a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who present challenging behaviour or SEMH needs, including:
* Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
* ADHD and attention regulation difficulties
* Anxiety and emotional dysregulation
* Behaviour linked to additional learning needs
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Providing 1:1 and small group behaviour support
* Supporting pupils to regulate emotions and manage behaviour in lessons
* Implementing behaviour support plans and strategies
* Promoting positive behaviour, resilience, and engagement
* Supporting pupils during transitions and unstructured times
* Working closely with teachers, SENCo, and pastoral staff
* Helping maintain a safe, consistent, and inclusive learning environment
This role is ideal for someone confident in behaviour management, de-escalation strategies, and building positive relationships with young people.

* Ability to follow behaviour support plans and use initiative
* Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
* Ability to provide two recent references
School-based experience is beneficial but not essential — training and ongoing support provided.

* Full-time, Monday to Friday (term-time only)
* £90–£110 per day (pay dependant on experience, and higher rate will be for leading classroom behaviour roles)
* Weekly pay (PAYE)
