Join to apply for the Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner role at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (ANNP) to become part of our team in our Special Care Baby Unit at Furness General Hospital. The role involves predominantly SC activity, with some intensive and high dependency care.
SCBU is located within the new South Lakes Birth Centre at Furness General Hospital. We also have a Level 1 SCBU at Barrow with 4 cots and a stabilisation unit, offering Transitional Care. Our team is family-focused and working towards Family Integrated Care accreditation. We collaborate closely with paediatric and maternity teams within the Women and Children's Care Group, as well as with our Level 2 Neonatal Unit at Royal Lancaster Infirmary and other units in the Northwest Neonatal Network.
In this role, you will work as part of the nursing and medical team to provide advanced care with autonomy, demonstrating highly specialist knowledge and skills in caring for sick and preterm babies. You will be responsible for babies and families within the SCBU, delivering evidence-based, optimal care, and supporting colleagues through education and leadership. You will manage clinical conditions independently, make autonomous decisions, and work collaboratively with healthcare colleagues.
Your base will be at Furness General Hospital in Barrow, with expectations to support the neonatal team at Lancaster. Main duties include clinical care, management and leadership, education and professional development, and quality improvement, research, and audit.
We operate across three main hospitals: Furness General Hospital (Barrow), Royal Lancaster Infirmary, and Westmorland General Hospital, along with community healthcare premises. Our community services aim to help individuals remain independent and manage their health conditions effectively.
