Job Title: Environmental Advisor
Location: Hampton (travel required)
Division: Environment
Reports to: Framework HS&E Manager
Purpose of the Role
As Environmental Advisor, you will support the Framework HS&E Manager in delivering environmental excellence across projects. You will play a key role in implementing environmental strategy, ensuring compliance with management systems and legislation, and driving continuous improvement across project delivery. Working closely with operational teams, you will provide practical environmental guidance from planning through to completion.
Key Accountabilities
* Support the delivery of environmental strategy across the framework, driving continuous improvement.
* Promote a positive environmental culture aligned with business values and behavioural programmes.
* Provide technical environmental advice and guidance to operational and site teams.
* Ensure effective implementation of the Environmental Management System in line with business and client requirements.
* Engage with key stakeholders including clients, supply chain partners and regulatory bodies.
* Monitor environmental performance through KPIs, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
* Support proactive environmental risk management across all project stages.
* Represent the HS&E function in meetings, audits and forums.
* Escalate environmental concerns and support resolution.
Key Responsibilities in the Role
* Review high-risk method statements, risk assessments and environmental documentation.
* Carry out site inspections, environmental reviews and audits, including ISO 14001 compliance.
* Support supply chain onboarding and environmental performance reviews.
* Deliver environmental training, briefings and best practice guidance.
* Investigate environmental incidents and non-conformities, identifying root causes and improvements.
* Support incident management and close-out through Galliford Try systems.
* Produce and present monthly environmental performance reports.
About You
* Relevant environmental or HS&E experience within construction, infrastructure or utilities.
* NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate (or working towards).
* Strong understanding of environmental legislation, management systems and risk management.
* Experience supporting environmental delivery across the project lifecycle.
* Confident communicator with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders.
* Experience carrying out site inspections, audits and incident investigations.
* Competent in Microsoft Office and reporting systems.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
Desirable
* Membership of IEMA.
* Experience within water or other regulated infrastructure sectors.
* Experience using environmental data and reporting systems.
