About the role
You will collaborate with Delivery Managers to support the Area Manager in ensuring the delivery service from your hub is top-notch. You will manage a department that is safe, secure, and compliant, focusing on efficiency, availability, and timely delivery to customers.
Responsibilities include
* Managing replenishment activities accurately, including space checks and damage processing.
* Investigating ISOS (In Stock Off Sale) items thoroughly.
* Ensuring safe marshalling, shunting, and pre-loading.
* Overseeing pick, invoicing, and driver paperwork for timely departures.
* Finalizing schedules and completing diary tasks.
* Conducting security checks.
* Supporting new colleagues during induction.
* Maintaining a clean, safe working environment.
* Providing detailed handovers for seamless shift transitions.
* Leading by example, embodying Booker’s values and behaviors.
* Building strong internal and external relationships.
* Ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and training.
* Promoting a health, safety, and legal culture.
* Championing diversity and inclusion initiatives.
Requirements
* Proven team management experience.
* Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
* Effective problem-solving abilities.
* Understanding of customer needs.
* Experience in a delivery operation (preferred).
