Our client based near Barton Upon Humber is looking for a maintenance engineer to join their brand new night shift. Electrically biased or multi-skilled preferred. From troubleshooting to planned preventive maintenance (PPM), you will be hands-on with specialist machinery, ensuring everything runs like clockwork. It's a role where you will use your problem-solving skills and technical expertise every day. You will play a key part in the efficiency and reliability of our production processes. The role is varied and dynamic, so you’ll get the chance to use a variety of electrical skills associated with being an electrician and service engineer.
Duties also include:
1. Install and maintain all electrical & electro-mechanical plant equipment or machinery
2. Operate a preventative electrical maintenance system
3. Troubleshoot and repair faults
4. Program Siemens & other programmable logic controllers (PLC’s)
5. Use various types of testing equipment to locate and remedy faults
6. Promote Lean thinking
7. Attend breakdowns
8. Contribute to safe systems of work (SSOW) documentation
We will provide you with full training and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure you can work safely and effectively.
About You:
You will be an electrically biased engineer with experience working in a manufacturing/factory environment, holding a minimum level 3 qualification in an Electrical Engineering discipline. Safety is our biggest priority, so you’ll be committed to safe working practices and have strong experience in health and safety best practices. You’ll enjoy working in a busy environment where you can be hands-on and flexible in your approach to changing day-to-day priorities, ensuring factory efficiency. Physical fitness is required for this role, given its sometimes demanding nature.
You should also have:
1. Experience and knowledge of PLCs (programmable logic controllers)
2. 17th/18th edition qualification (training could be provided)
3. Diagnostics experience of electrical motors and pneumatics
4. Strong team-playing skills
5. Good communication (written and verbal)
6. Good working knowledge of environment, health, and safety (EHS) processes
7. Analytical & problem-solving skills
Desirable:
1. Completed a hands-on apprentice training programme
2. HNC or HND qualification (or equivalent)
3. Experience in heavy industry manufacturing
