This post is part of a proactive team providing infection prevention and control services at a large teaching hospital. The team collaborates with the Infection Control Group and Trust clinical and management teams to ensure compliance with the Health Act, UKHSA, and Department of Health guidance, safeguarding patients, staff, and visitors from healthcare-associated infections.
Main Duties Will Include:
* Providing direction, leadership, and guidance for clinical teams in infection prevention and control.
* Serving as a resource for clinical teams and managing outbreaks of infection.
* Supporting and educating infection control link nurses.
* Offering specialist advice to the public on infection prevention, control, and infectious diseases, often in tense situations.
* Advising contracting departments and participating in the preparation of service standards and quality documents.
* Developing, implementing, and reviewing policies and guidelines related to infection control.
* Designing and delivering educational programs, including induction and mandatory training for staff.
* Pursuing continuous education aligned with Trust needs and current legislation from relevant bodies.
