Garage Support Assistant
Job Summary
The Garage Support Assistant provides essential administrative and operational support to the garage management and operations team, helping to ensure the smooth, safe, and efficient running of daily depot activities.
Salary - £27,000
40 hours, over 5 days a week
Key Responsibilities
Administrative Support
1. Manage and process garage documentation, including vehicle defect report cards
2. Carry out accurate data entry and support the preparation of management reports
3. Maintain organised and up-to-date records in line with company procedures
Operational Assistance
4. Raise requisitions where required and ensure accurate record keeping
5. Maintain and reconcile cash reports
6. Assist with ticket machine repairs and support operational compliance
Communication & Coordination
7. Act as a first point of contact for internal enquiries
8. Liaise with drivers, engineering staff, and other departments to ensure effective communication and workflow
Health & Safety
9. Adhere to all company health and safety policies and procedures
10. Assist in maintaining a clean, tidy, and safe working environment within the garage
General Support
11. Undertake additional duties as required by garage management to support overall depot operations
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Education
12. GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics are desirable
Experience
13. Previous experience in an administrative or support role is desirable
14. Experience within transport, logistics, or a similar operational environment is advantageous
Skills
15. Proficient in basic computer applications (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite)
16. Experience using industry-standard allocation systems (desirable)
17. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
18. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team
19. A proactive, organised, and methodical approach to work
Attributes
20. Reliable, punctual, and demonstrates a strong work ethic
21. A full valid UK driving licence is desirable
22. Category D entitlement is advantageous but not essential
