Role Responsibility

The Lodge offers residential breaks for children in Kent from the age of 12 to 18 years old, who have learning disabilities and/or Autism, and will have some additional support needs. These may include health related needs, mental health, behaviours of concern, and help with every day tasks.

We always support children to have fun with their friends and peers, to learn skills, make choices, and to be supported in a safe and nurturing environment, so that they, and their families, can have a break.

We are looking for people with excellent communication skills, who are able to work as part of a busy team providing a high standard of leadership skills. Whilst creating a safe, nurturing, fun environment for children and young people of varying needs and enthusiasm to learn new skills and gain new experiences.

This role includes the undertaking of personal care, administration of medication and sleeping in between shifts, which you receive an enhancement for.

To succeed in this role, we are looking for someone who:

- Can lead a shift whilst leading by example to the team and children/young people

- Has completed or is willing to undertake the Diploma level 4 in Residential Childcare or equivalent

- Can put training and knowledge into practice

- Has excellent time management skills with a non-bias approach when on shift

- Is willing to undertake training in medication management and keep competencies up to date. Ensuring the medication for children is given to the child in compliance with our standard operating procedures

- Can work with the team to ensure all children and young people are given the opportunity to gain new positive experiences and social experiences that are inclusive for all

- Can communicate with transparency

- Has awareness of the Children's Home (England) Regulations 2015 and can put this into practice
