The Practice and Learning Hub (Children and Families).
We are a team of practitioners who are passionate about providing high quality practice and learning support to all Children and Family Practitioners and Multi Agency Partners. The Practice and Learning Hub works to provide strong connections and relationships to practice and with teams. We are based in Shire Hall in Warwick but work across the County.

About the Role:
We are recruiting for the role of Consultant Social Worker in our Practice and Learning Hub covering the whole county. This opportunity is for a part-time (18 hours), 2 years, fixed term contract.
The practice and learning Hub support the roll out of Warwickshire's Relational Practice Framework and the delivery of training on four elements of practice:

6. Safe Uncertainty
7. Trauma & Attachment Aware Practice
8. Strength of Family
We also lead on the delivery of the Newly Qualified Social Work Programme (ASYE’s) and Social Work Degree Apprenticeships. We offer a range of accessible practice and learning opportunities to all practitioners across the service and Multi Agency partners on key areas of practice which include Neglect, Domestic Abuse, Child Protection and Safeguarding.
We support teams to access resources, bitesize learning opportunities, facilitation of group supervision and learning sets, co-ordination of webinars and delivery of formal training. We deliver the Designated Safeguarding Lead Training to Education Providers.
In the role of Consultant Social Worker, you will use your knowledge, skills and experiences of working with children and families to create and deliver effective training and learning events for staff across the service. You will work alongside frontline staff to mentor, observe and initiate reflective discussions that support the embedding of best practice. You will be confident in your knowledge around safeguarding and child protection processes.

Key Requirements:
We are looking for an experienced Social Worker, with a full practice education award. The successful candidate will help us ensure we meet the practice, learning and development needs of all social workers, family support workers, youth workers and other children and families professionals. The role will help us to continue to ensure that every member of the workforce is supported to grow as individuals and develop the skills and confidence to deliver best practice. The successful candidate will be proactive in co- ordinating, analysing and responding to feedback from learning and development events and implementing improvements to learning events and training courses.
The successful candidate will provide practice education, assessment and support the development of a cohort of apprentices on the Social Work Degree Apprenticeship programme and ASYE’s. The role will include coordination, delivery of training/group supervisions, assessing apprentices/ASYE’s and working closely alongside other colleagues in the hub. The successful candidate will also work closely alongside other practice educators/assessors working with social work apprentices and ASYE’s across the service, offering support and guidance to apprentices, ASYE’s, practice educators, assessor and team managers.
9. We welcome applications from social workers who have experience in supporting social work students and/or newly qualified social workers, with a full practice educator award.
10. You will have excellent communication skills and a good breadth of knowledge of practice within Children and Families.
11. You will have significant practice experience combined with experience of supporting others through delivery of training, practice education and learning opportunities.
12. Due to the nature of the role, you will need to be creative, professional, flexible and adaptable with the ability to think on your feet. You will have excellent assessment skills as you will be assessing social work apprentices in your role and contributing to the assessment of ASYE’s as well as the professional development of all staff across the service.
13. You will have strong presentation, IT and communication skills.
14. You will be required to travel across county to deliver practice and learning opportunities and meet with staff and teams within their localities.
Applicants for the role will need a professional Social Work qualification and current Social Work England Registration. Currency within the practice educator qualification is also required.
