Workshop Assistant - training to progress to Fabricator!
Tonbridge own transport ESSENTIAL
c.£25k-32k dependent on skillset
Hours – 6.30am – 4pm Monday – Friday (overtime possible weeknights and Saturday mornings)
Fantastic exclusive opportunity for a Prefabrication Assistant to join a successful, established organisation who cultivate a great working environment, based in the Paddock Wood area.
Duties include:
* Working in a small team within a busy metal fabrication workshop using a range of hand tools
* Reading technical drawings accurately
* Supporting the fabrication process, learning the process within a metal fabrication environment
* Using machinery and power tools
* Maintaining the highest quality whilst working to productivity targets
* Maintaining a clean and tidy working environment
* Providing support to the wider team as required
* Carrying out Quality Control checks as and when required
* Accurately measuring to specification
* Working to all health and safety rules and regulations
To be considered for this role, you will:
* Have some relevant experience working in a manufacturing environment
* Be interested in mechanics/mechanical engineering – ideally demonstrated through qualifications/education or personal projects
* A positive, upbeat personality with a genuine passion for work!
* Have a clear desire to build a career within a business long term, able to demonstrate loyalty and commitment
* Take pride in your attention to detail
* Be able to read technical drawings and take accurate measurements
* Have a good level of physical fitness
* Be keen and enthusiastic to learn
