This opportunity has arisen due to the retirement of our nursery manager, and we are looking for someone who is ready to provide outstanding professional leadership and management of the nursery. The job is permanent, the hours are 1209 annually. Contact time, 29 hours a week, is spread over 4 days, Monday - Thursday for 38 weeks a year (term time only), the rest are paid non-contact time to cover training, PD days and working from home. Key responsibilities include: lead and manage the nursery to promote high standards of care, learning and development ensure the children are offered rich, varied, and developmentally appropriate learning opportunities in line with EYFS be responsible for staff supervision to develop the staff team and their skills be responsible for contributing to children’s learning journeys be a dedicated practitioner who wants to support preschool children to develop socially emotionally and intellectually have high expectations of learning and behaviour or children and staff enjoy being part of a supportive, pro-active, and energetic team undertake strategic medium and long-term planning for the nursery. Person Specification includes: to have good working knowledge of the EYFS statutory standards and Safeguarding hold a minimum of level 3 OFSTED appropriate Childcare qualification with the desire to obtain further management skills has taken a level of responsibility in a high-quality nursery setting and is ready to accept more experience of planning an engaging curriculum for children to develop their learning, as well as their social and emotional skills have strong staff development, and leadership skills foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and positivity amongst staff good interpersonal skills, being able to communicate well both verbally and in writing with peers, children’s parents/carers, and other professionals.
