Family Early Help Practitioner Contract: 3 months initially Hours: 36 hours per week Rate: £31 per hour (Umbrella) (£22 PAYE an hour) Location: Southwark (community/outreach based) Role Overview Southwark Council is seeking an experienced Family Early Help Practitioner to work with vulnerable children and families to prevent escalation to statutory services. You will engage families in recognising the need for change, complete whole family assessments, and deliver evidence-based interventions to improve outcomes for children. Key Responsibilities Undertake whole family assessments and develop SMART family plans Work with families facing issues such as poor school attendance, safeguarding, domestic abuse, mental health, substance misuse and exploitation Act as Lead Professional, coordinating Team Around the Family meetings Deliver direct work with children, parents and families (1:1, family or group) Promote school attendance and prevent exclusion, including work with children missing education Work closely with schools, health, police, social care and voluntary agencies Maintain high-quality case recording and produce concise reports Manage a caseload and deliver flexible outreach across the boroughRequirements Relevant qualification at Level 4 or above Experience of direct work with children and families in an Early Help setting Strong understanding of safeguarding, child development and early intervention ...
