Wrightbus is currently the fastest growing bus manufacturer in Europe.We are therefore recruiting a Vehicle Installation Electrician for the Bicester, Oxfordshire site.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation and test of chassis and body electrical control systems in accordance with customer specification, ensuring the necessary quality standards are maintained and adhered to.The Role:Responsible for the compliance with the companys health and safety policy and procedures ensuring the workshop policies are being adhered to.To ensure that work carried out is to the Wrightbus agreed quality standard and ensure that all such quality sign offs, and procedures are complied with.Responsible for ensuring that the vehicle electrical control system is installed to the specification requirements as detailed by the relevant documentation.Responsible for the installation and modification of vehicle wiring harnesses and components as detailed in the contract build documentation.Responsible for the termination of various automotive and high voltage connections up to 800V AC or DC.Responsible for the test and commissioning of the vehicle electrical system as per Quality Assurance documentation.Responsible for the fault finding and repair of the vehicle electrical system using bespoke diagnostic software.Responsible for ensuring the installation is completed in accordance with the allocated process time.Must be prepared to work overtime when requested by managementUndertake any training or retraining associated with the post, or introduction of new working practices or engineering changes including the training of othersThe Requirements:Time served as a automotive, domestic or industrial electricianDemonstrate capability to work on systems to 600V AC or DCCapable of reading wiring diagramsDemonstrate experience of routing and connection of various cable types.Demonstrate basic fault-finding techniquesGood interpersonal skillsAn Awareness of general Health and Safety rulesProven ability to be flexible, working overtime and changing shift patterns as requiredThe Benefits:Life InsuranceMedicash schemeDiscount with local businesses and high street retailersCareer progressionProfessional developmentNote:T his job description will be subject to review in the light of changing circumstances and may include other duties and responsibilities, as may be determined in consultation with the jobholder.
