Job: SEN Teaching AssistantLocation: RedhillContract Type: PermanentSalary: £23,210 - £24,818 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience) + £1,000 Welcome Bonus*Hourly Rate: £12.99 - £13.89Hours: 40 hours per week, Term Time Only - Start: 8:15am Finish: Mon-Wed 4:45pm, Thu 5:00pm, Fri 4:00pmYour new companyWe are excited to be working with a new specialist SEND secondary school from September 2025 close to Redhill in Surrey. The school will support young people aged 11-16 with social communication, emotional regulation, and sensory processing needs, often associated with Autism. Their vision is simple: to give every student "every opportunity to achieve." With small class sizes, high levels of classroom support, and a dedicated multidisciplinary intervention team, they provide a personalised curriculum that inspires, engages, and empowers each learner.Your new roleWe are seeking enthusiastic and compassionate Teaching Assistants to join our founding team. This is a unique opportunity to be part of the school's journey from the very beginning. You will primarily be based at the Chaldon site, with occasional work at a satellite site in Caterham. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils' learning, wellbeing, and personal development. You'll help create a safe, nurturing environment where every child can thrive, while also assisting with care needs and positive behaviour management when required.Your responsibilities in the role will include:

* Safeguarding & Wellbeing: Ensure the safety and welfare of pupils in line with school policies, including safeguarding and PREVENT.
* Behaviour Support: Encourage positive behaviour, concentration, and emotional regulation, adapting responses to meet individual needs.
* Building Relationships: Establish trust and positive connections with pupils to help them feel safe, valued, and ready to learn.
* Promoting Independence: Support personal growth and independence while maintaining high expectations of behaviour and achievement.
* Learning Support: Assist teachers by preparing resources, reinforcing learning concepts, and adapting activities to suit pupils' needs.
* Curriculum Delivery: Help deliver a broad and balanced curriculum, ensuring pupils reach their full potential across all areas of learning.

What you'll need to succeed

* A GCSE Maths and English qualification at a minimum grade 4 or equivalent is essential.
* L2 award for supporting teaching and learning in schools or equivalent or willingness to work towards
* Previous experience of working within relevant SEND Provisions
* Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures
* Experience of managing a range of approaches to behaviour, including managing behaviours that challenge.
* Experience working within education is advantageous.
* Experience of working within a multicultural, inclusive setting
