As one of the UK’s largest holiday park operators, we’re looking for an experienced and commercially minded Group Head of Tax to lead and shape our tax strategy and governance.
If you’re passionate about driving excellence, influencing at senior level, and delivering best-in-class tax management in a fast-paced environment, this is your opportunity to play a key role in our Group Finance team.
What you will be doing
Lead the end-to-end management of all direct and indirect tax matters across the business
Ensure accurate and timely delivery of tax returns
Oversee and develop a small but specialist tax function, including line management of the Indirect Tax Manager
Review and sign off tax provisions and disclosures for statutory accounts (with support from external advisors)
Lead on tax matters throughout the audit process
Deliver robust tax forecasting, identifying risks and opportunities to optimise tax efficiency
Maintain strong tax governance and controls, including Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) compliance
Partner with external advisors to deliver strategic tax projects and advisory initiatives
Manage the tax budget, including external spend
Drive continuous process improvements to enhance tax compliance and reporting
Provide clear and timely communication to senior stakeholders, including Board-level reporting
Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance and IT to improve systems and reporting capabilities
Act as a trusted advisor, responding proactively to business tax issues
About you
Qualified accountant and/or CTA qualified with significant post-qualified experience
Strong background in tax advisory or in-house group tax, with exposure to both direct and indirect taxes (preferred)
Proven ability to lead, influence, and develop others
Commercial mindset, with a focus on driving business improvements
Highly analytical with strong attention to detail
Strong organisational skills with a proactive, self-starting approach
Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to engage at all levels
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Solid IT and systems awareness
