ROLE: Appointed Person – Lifting Operations
HOURS: 40 Hours
LOCATION: Manchester (UK Wide travel and some overnight stays required)

We're looking for an experienced Appointed Person (AP) to support the safe planning, management and execution of lifting operations across our Telecoms projects. As operational demand increases, this role strengthens our capacity while maintaining the high safety and delivery standards expected within Vantage Solutions.
Role Responsibilities
1. Take full ownership of ensuring that lifting operations are planned and executed safely, efficiently and in line with legislation and industry best practice.
2. Plan lifting operations from end to end, ensuring correct sequencing and safe execution.
3. Produce detailed risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) for each lifting activity.
4. Select suitable lifting equipment, materials and competent personnel for each lift.
5. Supervise and monitor lifting activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations at all stages.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following requirements for the role:
6. Proven experience as an Appointed Person, including producing lift plans and risk assessments.
7. Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to liaise across multiple teams.
8. Ability to manage multiple lifting operations simultaneously while maintaining high safety standards.
9. Proactive, solution‑focused mindset with strong organisational capability.
Ideally you will also have:
10. Experience in industrial or telecoms lifting operations environments.
11. Demonstrable understanding of lifting legislation and industry practice (e.g., LOLER, BS ).

14. Highly organised, with an ability to plan, coordinate and oversee multiple operations.
