Overview
Paediatric Allergy Clinical Nurse Specialist — University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust. This is a rare and exciting opportunity for someone with an interest in children and young people with allergies.
We are looking to recruit a motivated and hard-working individual with excellent clinical skills and the compassion and communication to foster effective relationships with children, families and the multi-disciplinary team. The post requires caring for children with allergies who need physical, emotional and psychological support.

Important note: Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.
Responsibilities
* Act as a clinical expert and professional resource to the multi-professional team, patients, families and carers.
* Develop teaching packages, protocols and advice sheets within the paediatric allergy speciality.
* Assist in the development and expansion of the allergy service within the acute trust setting, including inpatient and outpatient services.
* Collaborate with the Paediatric Allergy Consultant, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Consultant and wider multidisciplinary team; deputise for the Band 7 Paediatric Clinical Nurse Specialist as required.
* Provide specialist treatments, guidance and advice for patients, parents, carers and staff; contribute to service development across the trust.
* Monitor the progress of allergy patients, evaluate the effects of treatments, ensure patient safety and optimise health and wellbeing.
* Uphold best practice and liaise with other healthcare professionals to improve care for children and young people with allergies.
Requirements and Qualifications
* Excellent clinical skill set with the ability to care for children and families affected by allergies.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster effective relationships with patients, families and the healthcare team.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team and across inpatient and outpatient settings.
* Immunisation and vaccination report as a standard requirement (from UK occupational health provider or UK GP).
