This role involves working on a growing network, ensuring its reliability, robustness, and scalability to support over a billion users. Responsibilities include developing and deploying network designs, automation systems, and performance improvements in our production environment. During your first year, you'll gain experience with Backbone, Data Center, and Network Infrastructure Engineering teams through rotational assignments.
You will:
1. Build, manage, and maintain multi-vendor, multi-protocol data center and backbone networks.
2. Design and deploy new network architectures.
3. Develop automated methods to mitigate and remediate network events.
4. Analyze data to diagnose network issues.
5. Participate in technical discussions.
6. Maintain consistency within the network infrastructure.
Minimum Qualifications
* Currently pursuing or have completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field prior to joining Meta.
* 2+ years of experience in network engineering or network-centric software development.
* Experience with computer networks, UNIX, TCP/IP, and network fundamentals.
* Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Golang, Rust, C++).
* Ability to learn new concepts related to network design and management.
* Work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and ongoing during employment.
Preferred Qualifications
* Knowledge of Switching and Routing concepts and implementation.
* Familiarity with routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and ISIS.
* Understanding of tunneling protocols like MPLS, GRE, IPnIP.
