Business Assessor

Salary Details: BS26-29 BAR 30-33 (currently £31,650 - £35,166 BAR £36,347 - £39,765 per annum)

This is an 8 point extended scale with progression incrementally on an annual basis. Please note, progression beyond the bar is dependent on an internal set of conditions. Commencing salaries will be assessed in accordance with the College’s starting salaries matrix.

Hours of Work: Part-time - 30 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent - Salaried

Holiday Entitlement: 28 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays pro rata (increasing to 32 days for 5 years + service) plus statutory bank holidays & college efficiency closures

Qualifications:

1. It is essential to hold a business/management related qualification at minimum Level 4 or equivalent.
2. However, it is highly desirable to hold a level 5.
3. Ideally you will also hold a recognised assessing qualification (such as A1 Award or equivalent) and an Internal Verification Qualification. If you do not hold this qualification, Pembrokeshire College will support you in gaining this during your employment, within an agreed timescale.

Experience:

Significant recent experience of working in the business/management sector is essential. Ideally you will also have completed an NVQ qualification in a related field. You will be self-motivated, enthusiastic and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. You will also possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have the proven ability to motivate individuals towards achieving agreed goals.

You will support learners to gain their Business/Management qualifications at level 2-5 and form a vital link between the college and employers. You will assess learners’ work in the workplace and pass on your knowledge and experience as well as undertaking assessments in the workplace, assisting candidates in the preparation of their portfolio of evidence, carrying out progress reviews. Assessors are expected to support learners to improve their literacy, numeracy and digital skills, and promote the use of Welsh Language wherever possible.

It is a requirement to have access to transport as frequent travel is critical to the position. Assessments, observations and review meetings take place either face to face or remotely using various technological platforms. Your contractual place of work will be your home and you will be paid the applicable mileage rate for business travel. You will also be provided with a mobile phone and laptop for all business communication.

Byddwch yn hunan-gymhelliant, yn frwdfrydig ac yn gyfforddus yn gweithio'n annibynnol ac fel rhan o dîm. Byddwch hefyd yn meddu ar sgiliau rhyngbersonol a chyfathrebu rhagorol ac mae gennych y gallu profedig i ysgogi unigolion tuag at gyflawni nodau y cytunwyd arnynt.

Byddwch yn cefnogi dysgwyr i ennill eu cymwysterau Busnes/Rheoli ar lefel 2-5 ac yn ffurfio cyswllt hanfodol rhwng y coleg a chyflogwyr. Byddwch yn asesu gwaith dysgwyr yn y gweithle ac yn trosglwyddo'ch gwybodaeth a'ch profiad yn ogystal â chynnal asesiadau yn y gweithle, cynorthwyo ymgeiswyr i baratoi eu portffolio tystiolaeth, cynnal adolygiadau cynnydd. Disgwylir i aseswyr gefnogi dysgwyr i wella eu sgiliau llythrennedd, rhifedd a digidol, a hyrwyddo'r defnydd o'r Gymraeg lle bynnag y bo modd.
