We are looking for a Fleet & Plant Compliance Manager to spearhead our compliance strategy. In this pivotal role you will lead the management of fleet and plant compliance, ensuring we adhere to the highest regulatory standards while driving efficiencies that support our long-term business goals.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement robust policies for SES and Group Fleet and Plant (including grey fleet), ensuring full alignment with HSE and DVSA standards.
* Lead the development of fleet operations, identifying opportunities for cost optimization and sustainability initiatives, such as our transition to Electric Vehicles (EV).
* Oversee safety protocols and conduct rigorous audits to promote a "safety-first" culture through workshops and awareness campaigns.
* Utilize telematics and fleet management systems to analyze performance, driver behavior, and maintenance trends to inform high-level decision-making.
* Design and deliver comprehensive training programs to ensure our teams are informed, compliant, and safe.
* Reduce RTA risks by monitoring driver behaviors such as speeding, harsh braking, and idling.
* Manage vehicle hire strategies, repair cost analysis, and minimizing unfair wear and tear costs.
* Oversee inspection schedules for lifting tackle, pressure vessels, and access equipment.
* Manage Hand-Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS) assessments and PAT testing schedules.
* Ensure 100% adherence to scheduled maintenance and calibration plans
Required Skills & Experience
* Proven experience as a Fleet Manager, Compliance Manager, or a similar senior operational role.
* A professional qualification in fleet operations or membership in a recognized transport institute.
* In-depth knowledge of current UK transport legislation and health & safety regulations.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
* Proficiency in fleet management software and data analysis.
* A valid driver’s license with a clean record.
* Experience in change management and strategic planning is highly desirable.
* Familiarity with sustainability initiatives and telematics platforms.
