As ELA Compliance Officer, you will work to support the delivery of the Council’s Ethical Lettings Agency, from engaging with local landlords and investors to secure new properties onto our leasing scheme, to managing the existed leased stock and the associated tenancies
Responsibilities
* Help to maintain a high level of compliance in respect of the ELA leased portfolio: through the upkeep of scheme records, systems and safety certification, and by taking positive action to facilitate access to tenanted properties.
* Support the refreshed promotion of the ELA and the new Tenant Matching Service as we look to extend our reach.
* Support the delivery of the Council’s Ethical Lettings Agency: helping to manage the current leased portfolio and working with landlords to acquire further properties.
* Ensure that both new and existing properties within the scheme are safe and compliant, by maintaining records in relation to gas safety, electrical installation reports, fire risk/regulations, asbestos, and building insurance.
* Support our contractors in gaining access for essential checks through proactive engagement with tenants.
Experience
* Experience of working in residential property management and with private landlords.
* Good understanding of housing legislation, policies and procedures, key operational issues and good practice relevant to the post.
* Knowledge of the local property market.
* Ability and knowledge of how to generate new business and canvassing.
Hours & Pay
* Monday - Friday
* Usual office hours which will be confirmed at interview
* Starting at £16.73 (increases after probbation)
* Weekly pay whilst through agency!
