Assistant Shop Manager – Bognor Regis
Salary: £24,479 per year (full‑time), £13.45 per hour (pro‑rata for part‑time). Term: Permanent, 21 hours a week.
Location: 42 Bedford Street, Bognor Regis, PO21 1SH. Scope shops are open every day; weekend and bank holiday cover is required.
Role Overview
As Assistant Shop Manager at Scope’s Bognor Regis shop, you will work alongside the Shop Manager to ensure the shop runs smoothly each day. You will support the team, help increase sales, manage shop costs, and drive excellent customer service. Deputising for the Shop Manager in their absence is also part of the role.
Responsibilities
* Assist in the management of daily shop operations.
* Support, motivate and involve a diverse team of paid employees and volunteers.
* Actively promote Scope and its services within the local community.
* Help drive sales, manage stock and support online selling; identify suitable items and list them on online platforms.
* Deliver excellent customer service and support the team in providing it.
* Deputise for the shop manager during their absence.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in a customer‑facing role with supervisory or team‑lead responsibilities in retail or a service‑based environment.
* Experience working in a target‑driven environment focused on achieving sales or performance goals.
* Experience in a fast‑paced environment.
* Strong team‑working ethos and work ethic.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* IT literacy and numeracy skills.
