We are looking for an enthusiastic,highly motivatedMedical Secretary to join our practice. We are looking for someone withprevious GP secretarial experience.
The position is for 21 hours per week, over three days, (Mon,Tues Weds) This can vary, depending on the needs of the practice during sickness and annual leave. Flexibility is essential. The ideal candidate will be responsible for undertaking a wide range of secretarial and administrative duties .
Salary : £24,695 - £25,695 a year per annum pro rata
Main duties of the job
Duties will include: Typing letters, reports and associated documentation as required. Previous knowledge of Emis preferred but not essential. Liaising with external agencies such as hospitals and community services, ensuring referrals are processed efficiently, Manage tasks to secretary inbox in an effective manner. Maintain an accurate referrals database. Action all incoming emails. Scanning of patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients healthcare records. Input data into the patients healthcare records as necessary. Process referrals using the electronic referral system (ERS). Process requests for information i.e. SAR, insurance / solicitors letters and DVLA forms. Answer incoming patient queries relating to referrals. Manage all administrative queries as necessary. Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times. Support all clinical staff with general administrative tasks as requested .

Person Specification
Qualifications
* GCSE grade A-C in English and Maths or equivalent
* Minimum 2 years experience of working as a medical secretary in a GP setting Good standard of General Education Appropriate IT / Secretarial experience Knowledge/experience of EMIS clinical system Knowledge/experience using Ardens, AccuRx
* Previous work experience in General Practice or similar setting.
Experience
* Excellent IT skills with experience of working with Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word
* EMIS web AccuRx literate
* Experience of working in primary care
