Overview
We are seeking a Manager to lead the Economic Crime Unit (ECU) within the National Environmental Crime Unit (NECU). The ECU removes the financial benefit from criminals and works to ensure compliance with the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA). The role involves leading a specialist team and collaborating with internal teams and external partners, including the Police, National Crime Agency and HMRC. Responsibilities
* Lead the ECU, which comprises two teams (Asset Denial Team and Money Laundering Investigation Team) and supervise a Senior Financial Intelligence Officer.
* Provide strong leadership, motivate and develop the team, manage performance and delivery of work.
* Collaborate with internal teams (Investigatory Teams, Intelligence & Partnerships, Legal) and external partners (Police, National Crime Agency, HMRC).
* Influence senior stakeholders to ensure EA priorities are understood and supported by other enforcement agencies.
* Support the wider organisation in improving processes, share lessons learned, contribute to changes in technical documentation, and advise enforcement officers nationwide.
* Represent and develop the capability of the unit and its personnel, ensuring ongoing improvement of financial investigations under POCA.
Experience and Skills Required
* Exceptional leadership skills, ideally with experience leading a dispersed team.
* Good understanding of financial investigations and the Proceeds of Crime Act.
* Experience in: working in the law enforcement sector with knowledge of the National Intelligence Model; effective communication, feedback delivery, performance management, and building external relationships; working under pressure and prioritising a varied workload; identifying areas for improvement and leading changes to working practices; developing and enhancing the capability of a team and individuals.

This is a hybrid working role with flexible arrangements from home and the nearest office. Travel across the country for meetings and operational duties is required. Incident response is a central part of the role and you may be asked to take part in incident response or business continuity, which may attract additional payment.
