1. Mustlive in Herefordshire, Shropshire or Telford & Wrekin
2. Part time, permanent, 24 hours per week (may extend to 30 hours, to be discussed with successful candidate).

Context and background

The NSPCC's purpose is to prevent child abuse and neglect of children across the UK and Channel Islands. We do this through 3 core strategic goals:

6. Everyone plays their part to prevent child abuse.
7. Every child is safe online.
8. Children feel safe, listened to and supported.

Do you have?:

9. experience of delivering or arranging programmes in either an educational or safeguarding setting;
10. work well towards set targets/KPIs and goals;
11. experience of management, retention and recruitment of volunteers;
12. well-developed communication and influencing skills;
13. experience of following safeguarding procedures;
14. experience of working with diverse groups of people;
15. effective time management, planning and organisation skills;
16. work well as a team and work well remotely?

Job purpose

Reporting to the Schools Service Manager, the Schools Coordinator role will mainly be responsible for delivering the Schools Service and local offer to primary and secondary school settings. This includes (not an exhaustive list):

17. Being the single point of contact for primary and secondary schools within the designated local educational authority areas, including non-mainstream settings;
18. Working to set targets, KPIs and reach plans as agreed by your line manager;
19. Responsibility for booking a minimum number of schools to deliver our Speak out. Stay safe programme;
20. Overseeing the booking and delivery of NSPCC volunteer led workshops (to 6-7- and 9–11-year-olds);
21. Actively engaging Secondary Education settings in our Talk Relationships and other programmes;
22. Managing and supervising a team of high calibre volunteers;
23. Carrying out quality assurance visits through direct observations of volunteer deliveries, giving constructive feedback;
24. Ensuring training plan is in place for new volunteers, which may include the Coordinator delivering alongside volunteers sometimes
25. Providing effective individual and group volunteer supervisions;
26. Planning and implementing volunteer recruitment/attraction strategies;
27. Building and maintaining internal and external relationships, attending events or proactively promoting our offer with stakeholders;
28. Following NSPCC Schools Service safeguarding procedures to the required standards;
29. Collaboration with internal colleagues across the organisation in region;
30. Working on service-wide projects;
31. A focus on continued professional development and practice sharing.
