Responsibilities include continuing responsibility for the delivery of care needs and maintenance of clinical standards on the ward/dept., supporting all grades of staff, and planning and directing activities to provide the optimal standard of care.
You should be able to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate evidence-based, holistic, family-centred care with the multidisciplinary team for children and young people. Acting as an advocate on behalf of children and their families is essential.
Ensure that the ward/dept. is clean and provides a safe environment for children, parents, and staff.
The aim of this post is to gain competencies, knowledge, skills, and experience in ED to progress to leadership level.
Our services operate from three main hospitals: Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, along with community health care premises including Millom Hospital, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and RLI offer a range of general hospital services, including full emergency departments, critical/coronary care units, and various consultant-led services.
WGH provides general hospital services along with an Urgent Treatment Centre for non-life-threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three hospitals provide planned care, outpatient services, diagnostics, therapies, day cases, and inpatient surgery, along with outreach services across Morecambe Bay.
