Salary: £45-£75k depending on experience/level
About the Opportunity
We’re working with a leading engineering organisation operating within highly regulated industries, who are looking to appoint a Senior EC&I Engineer to support the delivery of complex design projects.
This is a great opportunity to be involved across the full project lifecycle — from early concept design through to manufacture, installation, and commissioning — within a technically challenging and safety-critical environment.
Role Overview As a Senior EC&I Engineer, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality engineering design solutions, ensuring compliance with stringent industry standards and client requirements.
You’ll also take responsibility for coordinating design activities, supporting junior engineers, and liaising with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver EC&I design outputs across the full project lifecycle (concept to commissioning)
Produce high-quality design documentation and drawings in line with project requirements
Coordinate and plan design activities to meet programme deadlines
Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Interface with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure integrated design delivery
Support and check the work of other engineers where required
Engage with stakeholders to ensure technical requirements are clearly understood and achievedRequirements Qualifications & Experience
HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical, Control & Instrumentation, or a related engineering discipline
Minimum 5 years’ experience in an EC&I engineering role
Experience working within highly regulated environments (e.g. nuclear, defence, oil & gas, or similar)
Experience collaborating with multiple engineering disciplines
Familiarity with cable calculation software such as Amtech (or equivalent)
Experience using AutoCAD for design work
Exposure to BIM-enabled projects is desirableSkills
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently and solve complex technical problems
Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage your own workload and support others
Proactive approach to meeting deadlines and exceeding project expectationsAdditional Information

This role is subject to security clearance
Travel to other UK sites may be required depending on project needs
