Mechanical Fitter Engineer
The Non-Ferro Recovery Company (NRC) is an international, family-owned company specializing in the recovery of ferrous and non-ferrous metals from waste residues.
We are seeking a Mechanical Fitter Engineer responsible for maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the optimal operation of our UK site installation equipment, machinery, and mechanical components. The role is preferably based in Cowdenbeath, Fife, Scotland, with travel across UK sites within the South West Region (approximately 70/30 split).
Key Responsibilities
1. Maintain and repair site equipment and machinery to ensure maximum output.
2. Understand technical workings of equipment to identify errors and perform repairs promptly.
3. Collaborate with HQ Workshops, UK Project Managers, and Installation Team Leaders; train colleagues to improve installation output.
4. Inspect equipment regularly to identify and repair faults.
5. Manage setup, implementation, and monitoring of maintenance checklists.
6. Communicate effectively with NRC senior management.
7. Promote team spirit, motivation, and set maintenance goals for the UK Installation team.
8. Ensure compliance with daily, weekly, and preventative maintenance requirements to enhance machinery longevity and safety.
9. Organize transportation and logistics of parts from Head Office in the Netherlands.
10. Perform administrative duties as required.
11. Provide cover for Installation Site Managers when needed.
12. Ensure compliance with all EU/UK Health & Safety and Environmental regulations.
13. Work remotely across the UK as needed.
Minimum Requirements
* IT and computer literacy.
* Leadership and interdepartmental communication skills.
* UK accredited Health and Safety qualification (CITB preferred).

Salary: £45,000-£50,000 per annum, based on a 48-hour week
Benefits: Company vehicle, pension plan, generous holiday allowance, and opportunities for professional and personal growth.
Hours: 48 hours/week, Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays.
