Deputy Manager – Children and Young People
Location: Shropshire
Salary: Up to £37,300.00 per year
Hours: 39 hours per week
Driving: Full UK Driving Licence required
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Deputy Manager to join one of our Ofsted-rated Good children’s homes. You’ll play a key role in shaping positive futures for young people (8–18) with emotional and behavioural needs, helping them build confidence, stability, and hope for the future.
About the Role
As Deputy Manager, you will work alongside the Registered Manager to deliver high-quality, therapeutic care in a supportive and nurturing environment. You’ll lead by example—guiding your team, maintaining professional standards, and ensuring that every young person in your care feels safe, supported, and valued.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home
* Lead, motivate, and develop a dedicated care team
* Act as a positive role model for both staff and young people
* Manage rotas, budgets, and ensure compliance with Ofsted standards
* Foster a warm, inclusive, and structured home environment
What We’re Looking For
* At least 2 years of experience in a residential children’s care setting
* Level 3 Diploma (or higher) in Children and Young People or equivalent
* Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding practices
* A proactive, compassionate, and hands-on leader
* Experience managing rotas and budgets
* Flexibility to work shifts and sleep-ins
* Full UK Driving Licence
