A leading private clinic specialising in plastic, aesthetic, and reconstructive surgery is seeking a skilled and compassionate Surgical Nurse Assistant to join their high-performing surgical team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the entire patient journey from initial consultation through to full recovery within a supportive and professionally rewarding environment.
Key Responsibilities
Preoperative Care
Attend surgical consultations and accurately document patient histories and surgical plans
Coordinate surgery bookings, liaising with hospital and anaesthetic teams to ensure smooth scheduling
Perform preoperative assessments and deliver clear patient education to prepare individuals for surgery
Intraoperative Support
Assist with preparation and setup of surgical procedures
Scrub in and provide surgical assistance when required
Carry out pre-surgery phone call checks and offer reassurance and support
Provide wound care and postoperative instructions, maintaining communication with patients via the clinic's mobile contact
Be available to answer questions or concerns during the early recovery period
Clinic Administration & Compliance
Maintain patient records with exceptional attention to detail and confidentiality
Monitor clinical consumables and ensure stock is up to date
Support with daily operational tasks, including CQC-compliant checks and clinic maintenance
Training & Development
This role offers strong potential for professional growth. Full training and ongoing development will be provided, particularly in the areas of aesthetic surgery protocols, surgical assisting, and holistic patient care. Requirements
Registered Nurse (RN) with valid NMC registration
Right to work in the UK
Minimum of 2 years experience in surgical nursing, preferably in plastic, cosmetic, or reconstructive surgery
Confidence in wound care and pre/post-operative patient communication
Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work well both independently and as part of a team
High standards of safe clinical practice and professional conduct
Warm, reassuring bedside manner with a patient-first mindset
Preferred:
Experience using lasers in clinical practice (e.g., Fotona Dynamics for scar work or similar devices)
