Job Title: Behaviour & Emotional Support Mentor\n Location: Southwark, London\n Contract Type: Flexible | Part-Time\n Start Date: ASAP\n Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour (depending on experience)\n\nThis is more than just a mentoring role - it's about forming a trusting relationship, meeting the student where they are, and helping them re-engage with their learning and life goals. You'll play a crucial part in supporting their personal development, acting as a positive and consistent role model.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nBuild a strong, empathetic connection with students to encourage trust and openness.\n\nDeliver individual mentoring sessions to help students understand and regulate their emotions.\n\nProvide guidance on managing behaviour, avoiding negative influences, and building positive coping strategies.\n\nWork collaboratively with parents, carers, teachers, and professionals to develop and maintain a structured, supportive plan tailored to the student's needs.\n\nFoster a safe, calm, and non-judgemental space where students feel seen and heard.\n\nRequirements:\n\nMinimum 1 year experience working one-to-one with children or young people experiencing behavioural or mental health difficulties.\n\nRight to work in the UK.\n\nMust have, or be willing to undertake, an Enhanced DBS check.\n\nProspero Teaching is acting as an employment business/education recruitment agency in relation to this vacancy.The successful candidate will be required to register and have passed all safeguarding/vetting checks with Prospero Teaching in order to fill this vacancy.
