Job Title Engineering Technician Salary = up to £43,000pa OTE. Basic salary of £39,740, on call payment of up to £2,000k pa. Overtime available at management discretion of up to 8 hours per week. Certification payments for GasSafe £1500pa, 18th Edition £1000pa and HV Switching £1000pa. Due to the UK Governments Visa rules requiring a minimum salary for a sponsored role, we are not able to accept applicants who require Visa sponsorship as this role does not meet the criteria required. This role is urgently required in the business - as such we are not accepting applications from individuals who are not already living in the UK due to the time involved in having to relocate to the UK Hours: 40 hours with reasonable amount of overtime Location: North East based although some travel in the UK may be required. Reporting to: Area Supervisor Staff reporting directly: None You will report to the Supervisor in the first instance, the engineering personnel will also take a close interest in your work. Both may issue instructions to you and both can be approached should you feel you need guidance When on site you should work with the site technicians to achieve your goals, where possible passing on basic skills in order that they can take on the more routine maintenance freeing your time for technical work You will be required to provide cover for operational sites and engineering staff You will also work with other members of the engineers, the operational team and the projects team in order to achieve the aims set out above Quality control of day to day operational tasks is an important aspect of the job The aim of the company is to develop a successful, sustainable and profitable business based on gas utilisation and/or generator supply Responsibilities: To ensure the operation & maintenance of all operational generator sets plant and gas systems to achieve maximum safe electrical output and to support the efficient commissioning of new generators Aims to achieve this: Planned maintenance and breakdown response on the generator sets with minimum outages Provide 24 hour callout response to generator failures and site faults. Operation and maintenance of LFG Systems Assist commissioning new generator sets Taking accurate regular records which are forwarded to HO Managing time and travel effectively, staying away from home where appropriate A commitment to continuous enhancement of your skills and knowledge, and that of the technicians working with you Seek guidance and advice from the engineering and management team in anything you are unsure of A commitment to Health & Safety practices following all procedures and using your own judgement Compliance and implementation of company protection procedures with a proactive approach to maintaining, monitoring, reporting and auditing Commitment to training to enhance knowledge and skills with regard to environmental protection and emergency preparedness skills. Procurement of environmental protection equipment and materials. Deal directly with spillages using pollution prevention equipment The job holder is responsible for: Liaising with the Supervisor and other management Maintenance of all mechanical and electrical plant used in the operations of LFG Maintenance of LV electrical equipment subject to training and competency HV switching subject to training and competency Work & monitoring on the gasfield to maintain the fuel source for the generators Repairing and maintaining the generator Their own safety and that of others Showing the company in a good light by maintaining a clean, well run site at all times Avoiding unnecessary expenditure by using skills and tools available within the company Reducing the companies reliance on contractors wherever this is economically prudent. Ensuring a stock of basic spare parts as detailed by the Manager is replenished and always to hand should there be a breakdown Supervision of contractors Compliance with legislation Problem Solving: The position involves the job holder in scheduling and prioritising his/her work to achieve agreed targets. The post holder will need to be capable of finding and implementing solutions to a wide range of problems. Knowledge & Experience: The job holder needs to have extensive knowledge and experience of primarily electrical, but also mechanical and generators.
