Are you a qualified Social Worker with 5 years post qualifying social work experience working with children and families? Do you want to apply all of your experience and knowledge through working with our children who are looked after by East Riding of Yorkshire council? Then we want you to join our Independent Reviewing Service as an Independent Reviewing Officer. We are currently recruiting for a full-time permanent IRO to join a team of 5.5 colleagues in a service based out of County Hall, Beverley.
We work with our children who are 'looked after' including those children receiving short break provisions and our privately fostered children in the community overseeing their care plans. The service works closely with the children, their families, partner agencies, foster carers, children's social care colleagues and the child's extended network to review and monitor care planning for our children and young people.
The IRO role reports directly to the Independent Safeguarding & Reviewing Area Manager (IRO & IFCRO) and will include key responsibilities;

The IRO role is vital in ensuring that the care provided to our children who are looked-after is of high quality and that their voices are heard in the decision-making process.
