This Technical Controller role is ideal for an individual who wants to progress their career in a fast-paced customer centric environment.
The role: As Technical Controller you will lead, manage and develop a small team, with responsibility for successful supplier management, conducting supplier visits in the UK and Europe, performing product audits, managing compliance, and representing the company in industry meetings.
Having a depth of food legislation understanding the Technical Controller will define and implement the relevant policies, processes and ways of working.
The Technical Controller will develop collaborative relationships with wider functions internally and externally to agree and drive ways of working and standards of compliance The Technical Controller will be responsible for maintaining and developing effective procedures for quality assurance, ensuring that all brand quality, food and product safety stage gates are met.
The Technical Controller will ensure all product complaints and quality issues are resolved and will develop and implement an effective crisis management strategy The Technical Controller will guide the business on food and packaging legislative changes and best practice.
Ideal candidate: This Technical Controller role is ideal for an individual with 6-8 years experience in a technical environment.
Ideally this will have been gained from UK food retail or from a leading UK food manufacturer that works closely some exposure to retail.
It is essential to be able to demonstrate hands on technical, quality assurance, legislative compliance and crisis management ideally across multiple food categories and have experience of managing the impact of food legislation on products For the Technical Controller role you must have managed directly at least one direct report and have experience of leading and developing.
You will have experience of packaging and current legislation It is essential to be able to demonstrate strong relationship management skills both internally and externally In addition, you will have experience with supplier audits, and specifications (ideally retailer specifications and audits).
Ideally you will have HACCP level 4 Working as part of a team you must have excellent relationship building skills, you will be able to communicate and influence with internal and external stakeholders.
As Technical Controller you will be willing to travel to suppliers (UK and Europe based) when necessary and will also attend meetings with industry bodies.
