Job overview
We are looking for a highly motivated pharmacist with clinical experience in mental health medicines optimisation to join our expanding pharmacy team. The successful candidate will develop and deliver patient‑centred clinical pharmacy services in in‑patient and community settings and act as a role model and supervisor for junior pharmacists.
Job responsibilities
- Provide, develop and maintain high quality clinical pharmacy services within in‑patient acute wards as part of the multidisciplinary team.
- Support the management and treatment of patients experiencing acute mental health illness to reduce admissions and facilitate safe discharges, ensuring smooth transitions back to primary care.
- Deliver expert pharmacy and medicines‑management advice to optimise patient medication regimes, advise on appropriate management strategies, and identify and manage risks.
- Supervise and support pharmacists undertaking their Clinical Diploma, providing practical guidance and clinical oversight.
- Act as a non‑medical prescriber where required, prescribing safely and in accordance with NHS and professional guidelines.
- Participate in clinical supervision programmes to further develop expertise in adult mental health pharmacy.
Qualifications
Essential: Acting as a non‑medical prescriber is required for this role. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in mental health pharmacy practice and a record of clinical supervision.
